In the Office (and Elsewhere)

This morning — rather than coming into the office — I went to the local hospital to visit with a member of my church who is undergoing surgery to repair a broken wrist. Combine that with the fact that I really need to invest some time and energy into this Sunday’s message, and the end result is that I won’t be able to compose a reflection on today’s Daily Office. However, in order to offer at least a little food for thought, I share these words from today’s Psalm. May they invite us to trust in the Lord more completely and commit our way to Him, knowing that He will be faithful to fulfill His promises.

Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

(Psalm 37:3-6)
